1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the Time Intelligence Bar Chart custom visual handles information when used within Power BI Desktop or Power BI Service.
We do not operate a backend data storage service for the visual. The visual runs inside the Power BI environment and your data remains under your control.
2. Data Processing
Local and environment-based processing
All data processing is performed within the Power BI report environment:
- In Power BI Desktop, data is processed locally on your device.
- In Power BI Service, data is processed within Microsoft-managed cloud infrastructure.
- The visual does not send your dataset to an external service or database owned by us.
No personal data collection
We do not intentionally collect or store:
- Business data values or underlying dataset content
- Customer names or personal information
- Email addresses or user identities
- Usage telemetry or analytics
- IP addresses or browser tracking data
3. Settings and report state
As a Power BI custom visual, the visual may persist UI preferences such as selected period, comparison mode, or formatting choices within the report itself. These settings are kept inside the Power BI report configuration and are not sent to our servers.

4. Third-party services
The visual does not use external tracking services, advertising networks, or storage providers. There are no external API calls for data collection, telemetry, or analytics.
Any processing that occurs is governed by the security controls of Power BI and Microsoft infrastructure.
5. Security
The visual follows standard Power BI custom visual guidelines and runs in the Power BI sandboxed environment. We do not use external network requests to collect your report or customer data.
- No external data transmission from the visual itself
- No third-party tracking scripts
- No cookies or browser-based data collection
- No server-side logs containing your report content
6. Cookies and local storage
The visual does not use cookies or browser local storage for tracking or analytics purposes. Any saved state is within the Power BI report and managed by the Power BI platform.
7. Children’s privacy
The visual is intended for business and professional reporting uses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
8. GDPR and other privacy frameworks
Because the visual does not collect personal data or store it on our systems, there is no personal data processing relationship between the visual developer and your business data.
All data remains under your organization's control inside Power BI. If you are subject to GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy obligations, your data handling remains governed by your Power BI tenant, your internal policies, and Microsoft’s platform policies.
9. Microsoft privacy and data residency
Power BI is operated by Microsoft. If you use the service in the cloud, Microsoft’s data residency, security, and privacy controls apply to the platform environment, while the visual itself does not transmit data externally.

10. Policy changes
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or documentation improvements. Any changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
